I couldn't recommend the program at the Macquarie Street Center more highly. It was everything they said it would be. What's more I was able to go from drinking excessively to very modestly and loved it. I'm happy with the results and so is my girlfriend.

I had a real problem with drinking. As I discovered through the program I was drinking about 70 units of alcohol a week. That is about 5o glasses of wine, or 7 bottles a week. I was going out lots and I thought I was having a great time. But I was tired, depressed and I was 37 single and thought that this is how it worked. It all became a bit same, same. After working with the guys at Mac street, I now only drink when I go to parties and even then I don't get out of control. There was also an added bonus. I found my now husband because I was sober enough to notice he was there. I can't recommended highly enough. The program is great.

One day I realized I was tired, all the time, I was overweight and my wife told me she didn't like who I became when I drank too much. I was exercising a lot, I ate pretty well but I couldn't shift the weight. The real kicker was when my daughter told me she hated me when I was drinking because I scared her. That's when I realized I had to change. I rang up Macquarie Street Alcohol Counselling and they explained everything to me and I decided to give it a go. Three months later, I am completely happy with my drinking behaviour, my wife is happy and my daughter is no longer anxious about me drinking.

I couldn't believe I had gotten to the stage my wife was threatening to leave if I came home smashed one more time. I didn't think I had that big of a problem. After speaking to a counsellor at Mac Street drug and alcohol Counselling, I realized I had grown so accustomed to my drinking behaviour and coke use, that I didn't see it for what is was, loud, obnoxious, messy and sloppy. After a short time of working on my problem I realized I'd forgotten what normal and healthy was and what they felt like. I no longer do coke, and I've cut back a lot and I will never go back to drinking the way I did because I wasn't happy then. My wife is happy, I'm happy, my kids are happy. Why would I go back? I thoroughly recommend Macquarie Street Counselling Center for help if you have a drug or alcohol problem.

I had the triple threat. I was gambling, doing lots of cocaine and drinking heavily. I was starting have trouble at work and at home. So instead of waiting for the train wreck I sought the help of the Macquarie D&A Center and haven't looked back. I stopped doing cocaine and gambling and I'm now happy with modest drinking. What's crazy and they will tell you this, I thought I was having a great time. But when I cut it all down I wasn't and now I'm really enjoying life. What's more I'm not having any other troubles. This is a great program. You should do it.
